Three bad campaigns = three phonies.

Of the three, Pence is amazingly the most authentic, despite being Trump's doormat for four-plus years as VP/VP candidate and three more years after his 12 hours of patriotism on 1/6/2021.

I almost feel sorry for him.

I have absolutely no idea who Perry Johnson and next to no idea who Doug Burghum is. Yet, they’re both ahead of Pence and Hurd.

Are they in the running for “The 3 Most Outperforming Campaigns?”

I’m so happy to see CC Rider pulled ahead of Meatball.

Chris I am in full agreement with your "trashy trio." DeSantis basically is unlikable. Nikki Haley flip flops too much. Mike pence though genuine to be a Republican these days you need to be disingenuous. Though clearly the leader Trump will look good in orange matching his makeup!

Trump will most likely look pale, since he will not get his Bronx Colors orange makeup in the pokey…

Yes, the "West Wing" was fiction, but in one of the flashback episodes about the beginning of Bartlet's presidential campaign, Leo McGarry fired the entire campaign staff except Toby Ziegler. Better to do a painful amputation with a sharp cleaver than with a rusty saw. Perhaps DeSantis should have spent less time battling "woke" and more time watching re-runs!!! Perry Johnson (who??) Doug Burghum (who??) Nikki Haley and Mike Pence - two people that are unable to take a specific position on any issue. While the two of you are twisting in the breeze, the voters have long moved on to check out other candidates. I may not agree with whatever your position is, but I will have more respect for you for willing to stake a claim and stick to it. I disagree with every position DeSantis has taken, but begrudgingly respect him for fighting for the hill he's going to die on.

Nikki Haley seemed like a rising star until she went full trumpian. Lets hope Will Hurd starts to gain more traction. his "reboot" book is pretty good.

Will Hurd would have been in the running for the "Who??" category (along with Perry Johnson and Doug Burghum) if the Orange Genius hadn't trashed him after the Iowa Republican Party's Lincoln Dinner in July. Free publicity and instant name recognition, all courtesy of The Duh-nold.

Nikki Haley may have other things to commend her but what does she have to offer as a candidate? I can't see the Trumpists who are so upset that white christian men are losing their majority status voting for a woman of color, in any event.

Where is this weeks mail bag !

I hear you. If that leaves the "normies" with the choice between(a) supporting an oft indicted and former failed candidate Trump and (b)sitting it out or (c) going to Biden, one would assume there would be some splintering , no?

Do you see any movement by the rich "normies" who run GOP PACs to draft Youngkin or another more palatable candidate to fill the lane in which Ron D has faltered?

I honestly think it's too late now. Very hard to raise the money you would need. And Trump is now WAY ahead.

It’s hard to pick a bottom 3 as none of them are especially well. Not quite sure what the end game is, perhaps Veep? Get their name out for 2028? Christie is on the right track but don’t think he will do much. Hutchinson may not make the debate, but he is one I’d be interested in seeing take off. Under different circumstances, Hurd would be decent. However, Trump has this in the bag. I don’t see the indictments hurting him for the nomination.

Who the hell is Perry Johnson?

Other than being the dude doubling up on Mike Pence.

Some must have another motive than winning the nomination. VP, business exposure,is campaigning a money making business?

idk Chris, it seems like Mike Pence is having a "moment. Whether it translates into anything remains to be seen.

What about Asa Hutchinson? Two-term governor of a red state, an extensive background, etc, yet he might not even qualify for the first debate.

He doesn't live in their fake world.
