What this news demonstrates is that the average white American shouldn't be allowed outside without adult supervision, that most of them are born with their heads up their ass, and that the other hairless biped species, Homo Sap, the one lacking frontal lobes and opposable thumbs, is more prevalent than thought (too bad Covid isn't more lethal than it i; now that we're plumb out of sabretooth cats to dine on the morons, we're in desperate need of some way to kick start evolution back into existence).

Other questions to address: If Biden doesn't run (because of law poll numbers), what's the alternative? An incumbent president (outside of Hoover, Ford, Carter and Trump) is infinitely stronger than most challengers, especially when he's got some accomplishments (lowering price on insulin, for one). And who would challenge him?

Excellent point. And Cillizza's post doesn't address the degree to which the Republican Party has literally gone nuts. It's driving many moderates and independents into the position of voting for Democrats even though they otherwise might (and likely would) choose otherwise.

Here is the new thing in politics. Always somewhat true, but more cemented now. Republicans will “support” any Republican running around 95%. If Putin ran on the ticket he might dip to 90% among Republicans. Democrats will criticize their own for a multitude of reasons. Support is rarely above 60% for any given Democratic president among Democrats. They can be too liberal or not liberal enough… they might think he’s too old. Some still want Bernie. Start accounting for that and I’ll worry more. Even if I am wrong about Democrats (and I am not) — it is DEFINITELY true that Republicans will support whoever gets the nod and especially once in power… they support anything and all 90%+.

Everything you say I agree with, but the moist important fact seems to be missing. Biden already beat Trump, and at the time, Trump had the huge incumbency advantage. Now Biden has it, and Trump now has an even bigger baggage problem that is likely to get even worse. Biden sits in the Oval Office and Trumps sit in a courtroom. Unless some disaster hits the Biden Presidency, Trump is sure to lose, bigely. If anyone besides Trump runs they might win, otherwise, it will be a repeat of 2020. But, as it will be a rerun, it will be boring. Also there is the added fact that Trump is not running to win it anymore. It seems clear, as he doubles down on things only his base like, that he is now running only to raise funds for his legal defense and also to remain in politics so he can claim political bias against him. Jan 6 never will be a winning thing for any national politician, but Trump still brings it up constantly as it gives his fundraising a bump. He seems intent on rallying his base, even if it means losing many of the moderate voters that he must have to win.

I don't see how the people who did not vote for Trump in 2020 would turn around and vote for him in 2024. Also, I don't see how and why the people who voted for Biden in 2020 would turn around and vote for Trump in 2024. Biden defeated Trump in 2020 and he beat him again in 2024 with probably a wider margin regardless of what Biden's numbers are today.

I appreciate the work Uncle Joe has done thus far. The breakout could be that a younger Dem could blow through we Pre-Boomers/Boomers holding the country hostage.

You have very valid points, Chris. If not Biden, then who? I think Biden is doing a good job and believe he was the right one for 2020. I do think he is vulnerable in 2024 and think he should step aside, being that bridge to the next generation. However, I am not sure who that person should be. No one sticks out in my mind as I don’t think Harris can win, nor is ready. The Veep spot should be the one to take the mantle, IMO, but not sure that’s the best move. With that being said, I think that Biden is the best one to defeat Trump, although, not 100% sure that Trump will lose. I’d like to hope that the rematch would result int he same outcome, but won’t hold my breath.

I think Biden is doing a good job overall, a great job in some respects, but I wish he would step aside. No I don't know who the perfect replacement would be.

I wish trump would be disappeared - by any means possible. I'm still afraid that everything he touches dies.

- Gretchen Whitmer Dem governor of Michigan

- Jared Polis, governor of Colorado

- Gavin Newsome, governor of Cali, but is seen as too progressive.

I agree with everything you wrote. I especially like Whitmer.

The new governor of Maryland is someone who bears watching. He's too young and green now, tho.

The end of the world. Tech wise. Your phone being a VM instead of a very pricey upgrade. I got an idea about using my old gaming PC ( Ryzen 5600 and 32 Gig ram Radeon RX480 ) to its full extent. I used Hyper-V to make some VMs (Virtual Machines) that I now can link my old tablets and laptops and phones to and get a high end experience with my old hardware. And they get a hardwired 1 G internet connection even though they are Wi-Fi. I ran 4 VMs at the same time and it used a lot of memory (About 18 GiGs) , but not much CPU ( I am showing 22% usage) most CPU's are not used anyways most of the time. Sweet! I did have to buy Win Pro to do that though. I am sure there are cheaper ways to go for someone who knows more about PC's then I do. My old RCA Intel Atom tablet (10 years old I think) is now very usable. Use "gpedit" Navigate to

Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Remote Session Environment

- Enable “Use the hardware default graphics adapter for all Remote Desktop Services sessions“

to use your graphics card in a virtual machine. It will not be good enough for gaming, but it works fine for most things. I hate throwing away old hardware. You could see the same thing with your phone, no hardware upgrade, just buy a new VM. That would be a game changer. And the end of high end hardware manufacturers domination. Moto G latest drop in hardware? Why? I got it in a VM! Yes, I do now own a Windows 11 phone. Microsoft should have made but did not, so I did. Win RDP or windows remote desktop protocol is a thing you can download in the playstore on android. When you download a webpage, 99% of it is cookies and crap that are onto the VM local machine, RDP just shows a screen shot of the device. .A VM just shows the loaded page, not all of the cookies and ads that you blocked. A lot of bandwidth is not wasted on the local device. Your VM filters all of the crap and just shows you the displayed page. :-) This will be the future, but it will cost the economy a lot. New hardware is what drives the economy. 8K video is max and many tvs do that and pcs generate that. After a certain number of pixels , there is no point in generating more, the eyeball cannot see any more pixels, the current max, 8K will soon be generated by old hardware, , why buy new hardware to do more?? Gonna cause a financial crisis. Another reason for the tech industry to soon collapse. Moores law still rules , but soon it will be a matter of... We already have 8K of video so now we need another 8K of spam as well? Who cares?

Yea. Biden looks "very vulnerable". Everybody said that in 2020 too. All the polls were saying "Red wave". And look at how THAT turned out. And now SCOTUS is gonna hear the abortion pill/FDA case and Trump is gonna get indicted again at least 2 more times.

It's waaaay to early to worry about Biden's poll numbers.

1) Biden will run again.

2) He will lose to either Trump or DeSantis, as horrifying/nauseating as it is for me to write that.

DeSantis was out-foxed by a mouse, he cannot even beat Disney, he is a wimp and will lose the nomination, probably to Trump, but any real politician could beat him.. He just another "Florida Man" , as in "A Florida man.. .did something really stupid. He is that man. Toll roads to get to Disney World? He is an idiot. PS, I never call people idiots, that is rude, but he is a politician.
