On Tuesday you wrote Biden is in deep shit”. Unfortunately it is the American people that will be in deep shit if they do not vote in 2024 & Trump & his tribe take over Congress and the White House! It isn’t Biden who has failed the American people, look at what he has accomplished in office and write about it. It is the failure of governance by the House Republicans. They don’t care about legislating they only care about promoting hate, political Divisiveness, attacking Biden, and continuing the Trump tax gift to the wealthy on the backs of the middle class. Be careful what you wish for you may just get Trump and lose our Democracy.
The Biden campaign needs someone to fill the role James Carville did for Bill Clinton. The Republicans have become a sick joke and this needs to be pointed out loudly every day between now and next Novmember.
This reminds me of when Kevin McCarthy first appeared on the country's radar, saying on a Faux News interview that the only reason Republicans were investigating Hillary Clinton over Benghazi was to bring down her poll numbers when she ran for president.
Being a Richmond resident and native, I've been to DC dozens of times. When my father graduated from the FBI Academy, Bobby Kennedy presided, and John Kennedy spoke. On our senior trip, we met Eugene McCarthy. A dozen or so years ago, I lobbied for pediatric cancer research and was treated seriously at my senators' (Kaine and Warner) and rep's (Eric Cantor) offices. Even at my advanced age, I was a bit awed to know that I was in the halls of power in this country.
(For the record, while you couldn't pay me to vote for a Republican now, I always voted for Cantor because he was responsive anytime I contacted his office.)
Beginning with the Tea Party takeover and exacerbated a thousand times by what happened in 2016, the Republican party has become a very bad and unamusing joke, and they have brought shame on our government. Having taught 1984 for decades, I keep returning to O'Brien explaining that it was all about POWER and nothing else.
Utterly disgraceful. I hope I never hear that they are the party of law and order ever again. The GOP has lost its way and continues sinking the country.
Kind of an inauspicious start to this impeachment adventure when you’ve already got Steve Doocy calling you out for having no evidence.
Ben Wittes was on with Charlie Sykes today saying we’re going to know in granular detail what Dictator Donald did and didn’t do for over 3 hours on January 6th.
I love the contrast between serious and unserious.
But with their thin majority they could vote to impeach for pretty much nothing. They really do not have to prove anything and the mouth breathing base will be all for it. A “High crime or misdemeanor” could be anything they have the votes to carry.
Yes, despite the fact that Hunter Biden is guilty of crimes and shameless influence peddling, there is no known basis to impeach Joe Biden. So yes, the inquiry is not serious. But , then again , the House Rs are entirely unserious. The R caucus is full of performance artists who care only about social media soundbites that are useful for the next campaign. They lack interest in or ability to govern.
Given the big money fueling American elections, is it really a surprise that politicians are more about obtaining and keeping power than formulating and implementing policy?

I generally don't understand the logic of this for House Republicans. Why put your razor thin majority at risk for a fishing expedition doom to fail?
The Republican gutter is filling to the point where the their sewer will overflow!

Please Chris, correct me if I am wrong.

Sad, but True...The ReTrumplican't Party has no policies but two election drivers the words "Hunter Biden" and "Impeachment."
