Late Thursday, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign released this statement on the possibility of debating VP Kamala Harris:
Which, weird.
Because Trump and his team have insisted there will be multiple debates with Harris — as recently as yesterday.
Also, the Trump campaign’s justifications for not debating Harris just yet makes no sense.
The idea that Barack Obama thinks Harris can’t win is based on, well, nothing. In fact, the Obamas endorsed Harris this morning!
As for the notion that Trump can’t debate Harris until she formally becomes the Democratic nominee….He debated Joe Biden on June 27 — long before Biden would have been confirmed as the Democratic nominee at the party convention next month!
