It's very obvious what he is going to do. I totally agree with you.

What is not totally obvious is the effect that it is going to have. Kamala is not Hillary.

I wish the Harris campaign would run a side-by-side video of him from this past week flip-flopping once again on abortion.

Like our friend in Israel, Donald is running for one thing. He wants to stay out of jail and he sees his chances are dwindling quickly.

Two cross-your-fingers wishes . . . . . .

1) Harris figuratively kicks Donnie Dementia's ass all over that debate stage (and I'd pay serious money to watch her do it "literally" as well).

2) That an overwhelming number of regular, ordinary, everyday, America-loving, patriotic citizens vote at record-breaking levels on November 5th and send the orange-headed, narcissistic, insecure, emotionally undeveloped, wanna-be autocratic Dictator a message of - we're just not into you anymore.

Agreed Chris, but you don’t need to be clairvoyant to figure this one out. Trump has no policy agenda. Just talking points, which leaves him with few options.

That said, since Trump has been and always will be a school yard bully, and perennial petulant five year old, is it a wonder he would stoop to a campaign of ad hominem attacks? Of course not, it’s to be expected.

Bottom line: Trump will be Trump and our country will be worse off for the effort!…:)

This should not be surprising - it is how DJT and his key advisors (Bannon/Stone) think. Remember, right after the 2020 election, Bannon immediately started to implore Republicans to kill the Biden Presidency in the crib - in other words, create so many negatives about Biden before they reached Inauguration Day in Jan 2021. And the flood of Biden negatives never stopped, which contributed to Biden’s continually low positive ratings.

We have to hope we have learned something from the past four years. So far, the public has shown some resistance, like they have been vaccinated. Let’s hope this continues.

My concern, Chris, is this will just turn off the swing voters, allowing them cover if they decide it is so bad, they just want to stay home. We have to encourage everyone to fight through it and vote anyway.

Lord help us

Right on target, Chris! The only style Trump knows is ugly and negative. How can he offer up anything else? I have great faith in Kamala Harris as she continues to climb the polls. I recall a quote from Charlotte Witton, mayor of Ottawa, Canada (1953-1956): "Whatever women do, they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult."

The way Trump attacks is infuriating. Even more aggravating is how people believe every flipping word he says.

I hope Kamala has a strong spine and doesn’t buckle under what are certain to be ruthless attacks from this clown.

Can’t wait for that debate next week!

Harris lead increases by at least one percent a week. She is overwhelmingly popular, has lifted up the congressional Democrats and leads in the swing states. It’s ugly already for Trump who looks completely bananas and the media who look complicit. lol

For the polls to be as close as they currently are, there must be a whole lot of people who still plan to vote for Trump even though they view him unfavorably. I just don't get it.

The Harris/Walz strategy of emphasizing the good in their campaign is an excellent one. We all know what Donald J Trump is. It doesn’t take an attack ad to tell us that. And Trump’s strategy of an attempt to “bring down Harris” is idiotic. His base doesn’t like Harris, they don’t need to see an attack ad to convince them that a black woman, a child of immigrants, a highly educated prosecutor married to a Jewish guy, is not their candidate. Their prejudices simply won’t allow it. The rest of us know that Trump is a seditious serial liar who will say and do literally anything to get elected. He would be better served by telling his base why they should vote for him again. The rest of us wouldn’t even think about voting for him. If everyone who can vote does vote, Harris wins.

I agree it's going to get ugly, but I think next Tuesday's debate *could* (not will, could) be decisive. A lot more people are going to be tuning in to see Harris side by side with Trump. If, as I suspect, she keeps her cool while eviscerating him (while HE loses it), it might well be the turning point of the race. I highly doubt there will be a second debate.

sort of off topic but here goes.

J.D. Vance has doubled, tripled, ?? down on his contempt for the childless (but, interestingly, not childless men and how they can't be trusted to teach children.

How does this comport with his conversion to Catholicism?

Unmarried priests. Teaching orders of priests and religious sisters and brothers.

Schools, colleges and universities run and in part staffed by religious.

Notre Dame, St, John's University, Villanova, Boston College, and on and on.

there is, of course, the scandal of pedophile priests, but it seems not to surface when he condemns non-religious single and childless folk.

I pray daily for someone to ask him that question. So far, no joy.

I could not believe the word salads from this past weekend from Trump. He was all over the place. He was going to support the Florida abortion amendment before he was against it, before he was for it. It seemed to be that way for everything he spoke about.

Which brings me to my lightbulb moment over the weekend.

Does anyone else feel that this election is playing out more like an election for high school class President than an election that actually matters? Because, based on what I am seeing and hearing, it sure feels that way over the last week.

Well aren't you just a little ray of sunshine this morning!

The good news is all this is that it is only, only 63 days till election day. Then I remember that in Canada the WHOLE election season last 50 days! O Canada!🇨🇦

Trump's campaign is going to run a bunch of ugly ads, but I wonder any of the attacks end up sticking. Trump's campaign is going to be outgunned on the airwaves by Harris given how much money she has raised, and the main attack Trump's campaign has so far seems to be about illegal immigration. Republicans try those lines of attack all the time, and they didn't work in 2020 or 2022. Maybe it works this time, but I'm not so sure.

Meanwhile, Trump himself has no clue how to handle Harris. He's on his 4th nickname for her, which is telling, and he's resorting to comically over-the-top attacks (declaring her a communist/Marxist) that I'd like to think your average voter finds a bit unbelievable.
