Biden has been a terrific President, but he is way past his prime. Harris is energetic, principled, smart, experienced, and ready, If Democrats lose in November it won’t be because Biden would have been a better candidate. If every American who understands what is at stake if Donald J Trump wins the election will vote for Harris, she wins. Leaving the top line of the ballot blank or writing in a meaningless name may result in Trump winning…and if we elect him then we deserve him.
Harris’ poll numbers haven’t weakened lol. That’s Republican propaganda which gets to what this nonsense is all about. (Margin of error polls could go up or down by 3-4 points and would still mean nothing. As it is they are barely moving at all)
Harris is easily beating Trump. She eviscerated him during the debate. FoxNews interviewers, made a $billion in contributions in three months. She’s ahead in the polling with white women, black women, black men (better than Biden), Republicans who aren’t MAGAS, everyone , she has far better and ever increasing favorability numbers than Trump, and has driven enthusiasm higher than Obama’s. lol. Republicans are panicking as a result and have gone about doing several things to compensate
1. Flood the polls with bad data
2. Push the idea that Biden is a better candidate so Democrats will flip back to Biden
3. Asked favorable mainstream media news editors to ignore pro Harris stories
4. Throw as much shit as they can at the news cycle so it distracts from Harris Campaign of hope.
None of these things have worked. Harris has ignored it. Her campaign keeps rolling.
We are looking at a Harris landslide. And Trump knows this. Just because the media isn’t saying it is the only thing saving his campaign right now lol

I've been reading Bob Woodward's new book, WAR. I agree with you about Joe not being a successful candidate after the debate, but I have to say that I'm really impressed with what I'm reading about the days after October 7, 2023. All of the behind -the-scenes work on keeping the Arab world united and pushing Israel on letting the first of the aid convoys through was very intense. I can't imagine Trump handling that in any sort of effective way. I'm not saying everything since then had gone well. I think it's become a worst case scenario at this point, but in the moment of the initial crisis, I think Biden's experience paid off.
Regarding whether Harris was the best choice for the nominee, I think you have to factor in the chaos that could have resulted from an open convention, even if deciding how the nominee would be selected. That's something another nominee would have had to overcome.

Well, I for one remain very happy for the change in Democratic candidates. I had been concerned about POTUS leading up to the debate, but afterwards I knew if he became the nominee we were sunk. I too see the Biden Presidency as a success in so many areas. I'm confident historians will provide that assessment in the decades to come. However, regardless of his Administration's success, age comes for us all. VPOTUS has given us a fighting chance to see FPOTUS defeated again and become the Greatest Loser! I firmly believe she'll be an outstanding President since she is a person of character and integrity.

I feel as though the Dems wanted Biden out and did what they thought best by having him step aside. However, I do not think they had a plan in place as to what to do next.
