What should we expect from a man with no taste or grace. Now isn’t the time to lay blame, but hey…this is what he excels at.

Such a very sad situation.

WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!! This is just plain sick. He has no idea what happened and to blame it on the control tower is reprehensible.

Let's stop talking about how Trump is changing presidential norms. With him, there is nothing normal and won't be for the next four years. He will use this tragedy to continue his destruction of our government and our country.

BTW: The FAA doesn't have a permanent administrator because Trump, or Musk, hasn't bothered to appoint one.

Our nation dies a little more every day.

Our nation died when we invaded Iraq. All we're experiencing now are the gasses released from the corpse.

Interesting take. Why?

Expand full comment

the man has no empathy, he's a sociopath....his staff wrote the release...his cesspool postings are a true reflection of his mental illness...

Expand full comment

He is mentally ill, I am sure of that, probably Dementia.

He may be slower and less glib in delivery (being generous), but he's always been like this, mean-spirited and deviant.

Expand full comment

he is a sadist... he enjoys watching the suffering... sociopaths probably just shrug their shoulders.. feeling doesn't exist in a sociopath

being sadistic falls under sociopathic behavior...he is a low-class POS...

You can dress up an immature bully in an oversized suit and elevator shoes, but you can’t make him presidential. He is morally, mentally, and physically unfit for the job and he’ll prove it to us over and over again.

On 'Morning Joe's Katy Kay pointed out that in Pres. Trump's second comment on the tragedy was commenting as an observed rather than as the person in charge, and that he was speculating that the accident was preventable '(it was a clear night') rather than waiting for the investigation to be completed. Pres. Trump's 'observation' (a) has the effect of shifting blame away from himself and his administration and (b) has generated conspiracy theories that the pilot of the military helicopter was a DEI 'hire'.

I will admit as the news was coming in last night I had the same thought as Trump the observer (a first!!???j. Saying almost the exact same thing while Watching with my son-in-law, a pilot, he tried to explain the variables to me, although not satisfied, I knew we’d have to wait for the investigation. Not excusing Trump, because as President (or as a human being) he should wait too before blasting it out to millions. It doesn’t happen often, or rarely at all, but I got why his followers like this Trump the observer, he says exactly what they were thinking too. OMG, did I just write this??? Admitted it? Wow, heck of a start to my day.

I too see why Trump's MAGA followers appreciate 'Trump as observer'. But what they most likely fail to realize is that he's promoting conspiracy theories and in the end denigrating facts that make it possible to get to the truth. In addition, his repeated use of this propagandistic practice has thel effect of making his gullible MAGAites rely on him for 'the truth', ... despite the fact that welll more than half of what he says is a lie. Joseph Goebbels would be proud.

Trump should not be considered as “an observer” - he is the president of most of the people who tragically died. He should consider these as deaths in his American family. But, of course, not. Absolutely zero empathy.

If there ever was an "American family" Trump has slaughtered it.

I won't watch MJ but did she actually say all of that? If so, surprised they didn't cut her mic and if not, it's another reason not to watch MJ & terribly disappointed in KK

Expand full comment

I don't watch MJ anymore, but Katty's comments shown here seem reasonable and not supportive of Trump. She's talking about his frame of mind, not hers. The idea that "speaking his mind" is an asset in one so vile and out of control is just wrong.

Ginger, ditto me. I haven’t watched MJ since they went MAL. And I agree, KK very disappointing.

Such a crass and tasteless and classless individual.

I think I would have been absolutely shocked if he had posted an empathetic message—one expressing sympathy for the victims and their families, assuring us that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the cause, and vowing to prevent something like this from ever happening again. But that was never going to happen. He is drawn to provocation, always has been, always will be. We should no longer allow our brain space and nervous system to fall prey to the ramblings of our provocateur-in-chief.

To paraphrase a line from an episode of the "Taxi" TV series:

"Mr. President, what's you opinion of the human race? I'd like an outsider's opinion."

If Trump doesn't know how to respond appropriately to an event like this, how the hell can we expect him to do so if and when our nation is attacked? If Russia drops a bomb on us, is he going to go on social media and tweet, "NOT GOOD!".

Well, he did say about people losing their homes and all their belongings in the fires in Los Angeles, it was, "interesting."

Trump cannot resist responding to every stimulus, which in this case was new but partial information about the two aircraft. He handles social media like someone pulling stuff out of his you-know-what to post to a few of his friends. Ready, fire, don’t aim.

he’s an expert on everything

Yeah, just ask him, he’ll tell you that..🙄

It raises the question not only what we "expect" from presidents, but what the people who voted for him "want". A majority of those are doing the same thing (and have the same type of personality): blame. Because if you point the finger, the finger can't be pointed at you. This stems from a deep seated insecurity. Blame feels good for these folks, makes them feel superior.

And...

Blame first. It gives the impression you know more, are smarter, and it's an attention seeking attribute.

Expand full comment

I agree. This is tasteless and certainly not the time to talk blame. The poor families are going through hell. Unfortunately it is not a surprise. He's all about the blame.

tRump has no class and is very ignorant and not smart at all. So there ya go!

Expand full comment

He is stupid, maybe that’s what attracts his voters, they’re on the same level. He’s crass, low class even though he thinks he’s practically Nobility ! He’s just a shallow loser and can’t handle even the slightest criticism for anything! He’s behaving exactly like a DICTATOR would. He hasn’t hit his stride yet, that is very scary.

Being a sociopath, Trump is not known for having any empathy, except for himself.

Sociopath and a Narcissist in one package with a Dictator Complex. Some dementia in there too. He just keeps getting worse. I wonder what the Republicans really think of him? Are they afraid of him?
