The news broke Tuesday morning: New Hampshire Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, after months (and I mean months) of fence sitting, is planning to endorse Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign tonight.
This was treated as BIG NEWS in the political world.
I am a little more meh on it.
Yes, Sununu is a popular governor. And you’d probably rather have his endorsement than not.
At the same time, I DO NOT see this changing the overall dynamic — either in New Hampshire or nationally — of the race for the Republican nomination.
I explain why in much more detail in the video below. While most of my video content, which I am going to be doing more of, is for paid subscribers only, I am not putting this one behind the paywall. I want people who are free subscribers to see what these videos are all about — and maybe become paid subscribers today!
Thanks in advance for your support. To the video!
This endorsement is about six months too late. I don't know why Reynolds and Sununu are wasting political capital on these doomed to fail endorsements.
I agree with you about political endorsements, Chris. They are pointless with very few exceptions.
Meh is the word you used and it is exactly the right one. He may as well have endorsed Cornel West for all the effect it will have.
