Hey Chris, we are with you, man. You’ve got this.

The future is a mystery for all of us. All we have is each other to hang on to. Keep your work beautifully honest and I suspect you will soar.

My hope for you in 2024 is for deep peace and success - inner and outer. 🕊️✌🏽

Chris, I joined your Substack community today. I always enjoyed your commentaries on CNN as well as your occasional free Substack post. Your knowledge, ability to communicate, honesty, and willing ness to share your life with your readers is so refreshing, that I have begun to consider you a virtual friend. What convinced me to become a paid subscriber is the opportunity to interact with you and the other subscribers. 2024 will be one of the most consequential years in the history of this country. Our democracy hangs in the balance. And I am frightened. Please make interacting with you and your subscribers a priority. Blogs, zoom calls, whatever. Somehow we have to get through this together.

I am definitely a conservative (in the traditional sense of the word) but as an OG NeverTrumper, I am much more Liz Cheney than the current makeup of the GOP. There’s not a ton of media out there for my very, very small niche, so I subscribe to The Dispatch (canceled my National Review sub) and the Bulwark. Honestly, if I could bring back any media outlet from the grave it would be The Weekly Standard. But here’s the thing I learned: So many on the right and left have revealed themeselves to be grifters, who will say and do anything for clicks. All I really need is for someone to engage with ideas honestly and in good faith. I don’t have to *agree* with all of it.

That’s why I’m here.

Welcome to our conservative friends! What a pleasure it is for me as a mainstream liberal to be in such profound agreement with NeverTrump conservatives (I have a list) who I might have turned my nose up at in the Before-Trump times. I’m confident President Reagan would be with us (what a class act- not what I thought at the time)!

Thrilled to be on this ride with you!

Cannot wait for what comes next - not sure what it will be, however, am sure it will be exciting

2024 will be a consequential year in politics in America - no one I would rather have help navigate the world of politics in 2024 than Chris Cillizza.

Thank you!

Chris, it has been a real pleasure to be with you on this journey of discovery. I particularly love when you talk about the balance between writing and your family, how you set us aside for a bit to be present for your wife and boys. Believe it or not that’s a life lesson for this self centered (at times) dad. We got your back and if you ever decide to come out to the left coast we’ll show you a few “undiscovered” trails down to Bolinas if you promise not to post! Happy New Year! Lou

If you were able to achieve this great success as you were figuring it out on Substack, I imagine with the experience and feedback you have gotten and the awesome community you are building, you will only build on that success exponentially in 2024 - especially with how critical & consequential the year will be. Here's to 20,000+ followers and 5,000+ paid subscribers in 2024!!

I am so glad that I have joined this community Chris and reading your posts about politics and your life. I’m really glad I can be a part of this in the coming year. You and your readership share your uncertainty and fear of what might happen to us in the coming year -- got ourselves personally, and the nation as a whole.

Chris, simply put, I like you and your style. You’re interesting, insightful, funny, intelligent, and creative. Personally, I’m content with reading your writing and watching your occasional videos. I think it’s good to experiment with other options and possibilities, but don’t let yourself get spread too thin, and make sure you’re enjoying it along the way. Best wishes for a happy, healthy and successful 2024!

I look at this to be a place of sanity in the coming year. It's going to be a wild ride with plenty of ups AND downs.

And if your travels bring you to the Boston area I'd love to be part of a meet-up.

Short response: Hear hear!! (or is it "here here!!"?)

Longer answer: Reading your posts is the highlight of most of my days. I look forward to your thoughts on politics and other things. I am enjoying the community you've built, and my fellow "citizens" here.

Personal meet ups?: I don't know if it's practical, but just the other day I had a day dream that you happened to find yourself in Omaha, NE, where I live, and I drove you around town, showing you the things Omaha has to offer: TD Ameritrade park where the College World Series is held every year; Henry Doorly Zoo--world class; just generally what our city looks like. And, I day dreamed that you and I enjoyed having lunch together. I imagine that those of us who live near you would enjoy a meet up.

Like you, I don't know where this is headed long term. Speaking for myself, and selfishly, I hope I get to continue reading you for a long time to come.

Happy New Year, and all my best to your wife and sons.

Chris,

Thank you for letting all of us be passengers in your journey. It's been an honor and a pleasure.

Whatever adjective(s) you want to use to describe the past year, unless the Supreme Court surprises us with some definitive decisions very quickly, my guess is that 2024 will be even more tumultuous than 2023. And to quote Admiral Kirk in 'The Wrath of Khan', "Well, I for one am glad to have you at the helm".

Happy New Year!!!

I feel certain the DC Cir and then the SCOTUS will reject Trump's frivolous immunity argument before the end of January. ( That Trump's lawyers didn't want expedited SCOTUS review tells you all you need to know) That should keep the DC case on track for 3/4 or perhaps delayed a couple of weeks. The Colorado and Maine decisions will more likely than not be reversed in Q1.

Happy New Year! Thank you for all you have written this year. Please keep on writing. And for those of us who don't watch videos, please write out the text of the video.

We all love your style of writing, including your transparency and willingness to see all sides of an issue. Being able to develop a community is something important and helps restore everyone's faith in mankind. We thank you for that. In reality, I don't think you'll ever develop a huge right-wing fan base because that's just where politics is right now. And in terms of not accomplishing everything that you've wanted to, those were pretty high expectations for your first year. In any event, they just provide more goals for next year and the year's following! Happy New Year and best of wishes for next year! Keep the articles coming!
