If I’m debating Trump in the primaries, and knowing how he debated in 2016, I’d come in with all “guns” blazing. He’s a bully so going at him head on is the only way I see someone getting anywhere. If you can put him in his place, then his supporters can see someone stronger to put their money on.
As usual, Chris, I agree with you. His supporters love him so much, they will all turn out for the primaries - and the results will reflect how many of the Republicans who DON’T love him bothered to show up
Chris, I certainly see where you are coming from and tend to agree. Yes, it is early and someone or something could totally upend the whole trajectory. However, at this point, I believe it will be Trump as the nominee. Which is quite upsetting, to say the least. Grew up in North Jersey where he dominated the NYC news and was quite disgusted back then. While I do think there is a chance, a fairly sizable chance, of him winning the general, am hoping and praying that most of the country comes to their senses and do not cast a ballot for him. If the stars align for him again, we are in deep trouble as a country. On the flip side, we are in deep trouble if he loses for different reasons. In other words, we are doomed.

I live in Iowa, Trump is by far the chosen one from what i hear from Independents and R’s. The I’s will register as R’s to vote in the primary.
Only in this insane asylum of a country could someone be indicted and have that be a BOOST to their political campaign...............
Ross Douthat thinks that DeSantis should NOT wait until 2028. He might miss his moment if he does.
