They are terrified of him. Intelligent. Young. Handsome. Personable. Owns Faux News. Soldier and a good one. Because they are terrified, they seek to undermine him.
Pete has the same gift Bill Clinton had in that he is able to speak directly to Fox News and other right-wing audiences and counter their arguments (such as they are) without sounding condescending. He is incredibly thoughtful and intellectually honest and that is a problem for the populist grievance addicted GOP.
I agree that GOP ATTACK on PB is transparently homophobic and partisan. BUT my concern about his tenure as Secretary of Transportation is the opposite. I think he has been far too passive toward his regulatees in the airline and freight railroad industries. He talks the talk, but does not walk the walk. Where are the fines and demands for tougher legislation when Southwest and Warren Buffett ignore consumers, threaten the environment and block needed government action though lobbying and donations to GOP and Dems?
They're scared to death of him. He's intelligent. Not only speaks several languages but speaks in complete sentences. Refuses to be baited by haters like Rubio and Cotton and Trump Jr. and Carlson. Doesn't shy away from admitting mistakes. Has command of the subject matter of whatever he's talking about. This is *precisely* the sort of person we want to see in office.
I think Pete Buttigieg has the capacity and determination to be a leader of the next American Resolution. The resolution of the problems that have created a divided nation and a resolve to restore the common sense of Thomas Paine and the political sense of Alexander Hamilton and James Madison.
Gina Raimondo, Sec. of Commerce is a Dark Horse in the future Democratic candidates billboard. Very successful Governor, extremely intelligent and doesn’t suffer fools. She thinks big, thinks long term, and is also politically street smart.
Jake Sullivan at State, for example? I think the breadth and depth of issues is more suited to the political and social issue experience of a mayor. Mayor Pete has that advantage over Jake.
Or he could just be out of his league in this role. I heard him speak before he ran in 2020. Really nice, intelligent person. He's still very young, though, and wasn't necessarily ready for this opportunity.
At this stage of our development there is more need for an American Resolution than an American Revolution, common causes rather than the politics of division. Joe Biden is leading us in the direction of our shared values, but it needs the vision and action of the younger generation of Americans exemplified by men such as Pete Buttigieg and Jake Sullivan,

Sec. Pete, as others have noted, terrifies Fox News and the Trumps. He is smarter than them and better than them in every single way.

The Republican attacks on Secty. Pete only raise his visibility as a potential candidate for higher office.
They are building up their future nemesis (giggle)!

Is he really the best there is behind Biden? Seems like there are others with more talent and a propensity for action

Keep an eye on her.

People younger than he is masterminded our revolution. Younger people than he have created entire new industries.

You are very right. So maybe he's not quite ready, whatever his age. That's just my opinion. I don't see him ready to take on a revolution.
Lifestyle isn’t what it is, but yes, for sure they love to hate everything of what he is and nothing about who he is.
