I suppose it’s certainly an out that the Republican Party doesn’t stand for principles of any sort.

Actually I suppose it goes back way further since Republicans had no problem with Trump going around on the birther bandwagon.
They are all a bunch of hypocrites. Nothing is ever done to a republican for the crap that they pull. They will all eventually come around to backing Trump, if he is the nominee. If anyone balks they will get verbally eviscerated by Trump and then he will go back on his word. Seen this play too many times., It is all rather old and we all know the play book.
