No to Nikki Haley as a third party/No Labels candidate. Please, just no. She would bleed independent and center-right voters from Biden (more than she would bleed voters from Trump) and weaken the anti-Trump coalition. And, Liz Cheney would not join that ticket.

I think Nikki’s end-game is to run in 2028, after Trump is either held responsible for losing yet another election, or, if Trump wins in 2024, America has a deep-seated buyer’s remorse.

There is absolutely no evidence that Biden isn’t up to the job. At the State Of The Union I expect him to show that Ole Joe still got what it takes.

The only reason that so many Americans question Biden’s capabilities is because the media keeps saying it, but without any evidence except for verbal slips by a guy known all his life for verbal gaffes.

Report how remarkable Biden is at his job and Americans will trust him as they would trust Warren Buffett, who is in his 90s, with their money.

Repeatedly making a story about Biden’s age is creating the sense that it is a problem and people pick up on it.

The same as repeating stories of migrant crime will make people afraid of migrants though it isn’t a real issue. The media has a responsibility and it is neglecting it.

Biden is highly capable and is proving it everyday by doing the job while Congress is deliberately obstructing.

Now that’s a story that needs repeating.

Cheney wants to stop Trump. A No Labels ticket with Hayley will pull Independents and Democrats from Biden. Hayley gets almost no Trump MAGA voters. Hayley/Cheney would pretty much assure a Trump win. That doesn’t fit her goal.

If Trump loses this year I expect most Republicans to have no buyer's remorse in 2028 and continue being total dumbasses. If Trump is dead or decides not to run in 2028 they'll just nominate someone trying to be the next Trump. I'd love to see them return to being a normal party and pick Haley, but I doubt it.

What I think she should do - run for governor in 2026.

One of the strongest criticisms of Haley has been that she said she would endorse Trump if he won. That undercut her argument that he is dangerous and unqualified.

I don’t know what she will do, but taking that back is the only thing she can do.

It is only March. A lot can happen between now and the convention.

Liz Cheney says she will do what it takes to stop Trump from being elected. What will she do and when will she do it?

Another group I haven’t heard before but could go big. But, I’m talking about Haley-Chaney. A dynamic duo. But only in my dreamworld.

Everyone may be overthinking this. Haley could be staying in with the hope of winding up the Republican nominee. In 2024.

As Trumps cognitive issues continue to escalate, and Bidens decline is just as obvious, Nikki may think she has a path to be the next president. And if Trump does implode mentally or physically, she will be in the best position to capitalize on that. Stay in NH. All the way!

Thanks for sharing the new Avett Brothers song. A little punky Americana.

I don't know what Haley's plans are, but she has nothing to lose. Several people have raised their name recognition by running for POTUS&then leveraged their notoriety by serving on boards, making speeches, being college presidents, etc. Separately, we have a dysfunctional system. IMO, Biden is the only D Trump could possibly beat; & Trump is the only R Biden could beat. R voters ignore the polls suggesting Haley would win easily, whereas Trump's lead is within the margin of error. Biden seems determined to run notwithstanding widespread concern about his age. Joe has done a great job. He's banking people will come to realize his record is strong and that Trump is a menace. I hope he's right, but it's not looking good at the moment.

What is Nikki Haley's end-game? I'm not even sure she knows right now. But by staying in, there are a bunch of different routes she could follow.

Of course, Nikki being Nikki, she could start a conversation having "this" position, and much like the famous AMC Hornet X corkscrew jump in 'The Man With the Golden Gun', end the conversation having the polar opposite position.

We can debate the "why" of Nikki Haley staying in the race, but I suspect a big reason is that she's having fun being a thorn in Trump's bone-spur feet. She doesn't have anything to lose, she hasn't crossed any line that dooms a future run, she provides an avenue for the 35%-40% of the electorate that doesn't want Trump to express that opinion, and from what I understand, she's still doing quite well with donations, so she's not hurting for cash. And, of course, she's the ready-to-step-up candidate when the Republicans can no longer deny Trump's dementia.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. At least for the right here and right now, it's GO NIIKI GO.
