“No Labels” is going to ensure that Donald J Trump is elected. They are funded by the Right, by folks who are butt-hurt that their breathlessly optimistic support of Trump has turned out so badly. Folks who despise Donald J Trump must vote Democratic in epic numbers to stop the forward movement of fascism in the person of Donald J Trump, fascism enabled by opportunists like “No Labels”.

Joe Lieberman keeps turning up like a bad penny. During the battle for Obamacare he fought tooth and nail against even having a "Medicare for All" *option* as part of the package. He doesn't seem to get that we don't want what he's selling.

Well done, Chris. What’s needed is a “coalition of the sane” to unite to defeat Trump by voting for Biden. Anything that takes votes away from that coalition is , as you point out, helpful to Trump and , thus, harmful to the USA

Their party's logic is also stupid by claiming to be a centrist third party. Has there ever been a centrist third party in American history? No, because that space is already claimed by the major parties. Third parties are always either farther left or farther right than the major parties.

That's why I assume that their anti-Trump talk is just a pretense. They are a pro-Trump group trying to fool anti-Trump people into helping him.

Pat McCrory is one of the leaders of No Labels. He served 8 or 9 terms as mayor of Charlotte and was, in a city that was then fairly evenly split party, a pro-business Republican that brought everyone together on fiscal issues and avoided culture wars. Then he ran for and became Governor and, in so doing, because the state is heavily gerrymandered, became a hard right culture warrior (remember the bathroom bill stuff? Yep, that was the state law he made sure passed). He lost reelection, ran again, and I don’t think he even got out of the primary - Democrats hated him because of how he ran for and served as governor and republicans never quite trusted him because he was mayor of Charlotte for so long. He was reduced to pontificating on AM radio eventually. No Labels is his attempt to be relevant and his involvement is exhibit 1 that it is a Republican stalking horse for Donald Trump. A vote for anyone other than Joe Biden (warts and all, as you say, though I think he’s done a tremendous job) is a vote for the potential end of our republic.

McCrory just announced he's resigning from No Labels.

oe Lieberman is a putz.

He single handedly made the ACA (Obamacare) MUCH worse by preventing it from including the "public option", using the same substantially lower cost Medicare system which would have probably been a very effective and much lower cost alternative.

The first steps to have the country voluntarily move to a much more efficient Medicare-for-most model that does not rely on maximizing PROFIT over HEALTH CARE.

Of course Joe did this BECAUSE it would put pressure on private insurance providers who eat up substantial percentage of premiums with paperwork designed to MINIMIZE them having to pay legitimate claims, while, especially, providing multi-million massive salaries for filthy rich executives.

He helped hand the 2000 election to G.W. Bush when, in the VP debate with Dick 'Darth Vader' Cheney he acted more like a buddy (which he was) to war monger Dick than a Democratic candidate.

It was not enough for Lieberman to hinder Obamacare and to help the disastrous Bush/Cheney hawks proceed to mire the US in a stupid necessary war in Iraq....probably the WORST foreign policy blunder in this nation's history, now he wants to help the WORST president in history, the criminal, sociopathic, psychopathic, malignant narcissist, sexual abusing fraudster Donald Trump BACK into the WH.

GO AWAY JOE!!!!  You continuing to do more damage to America is repulsive and not welcome.

Give Joe his props for his 24/7/365 effort to disprove the ancient Anti-Semitic slur that all Jews are really smart.

Show us who is funding No Labels and RFK Jr and we will know what they are up to.

We know it isn’t to win the election. That is obviously clear.

The minor party candidates are spoilers. They can do it for both sides. Ross Perot helped Clinton win. He didn’t stand a chance and despite having genuine enthusiasm he disappeared off the national radar once he lost.

If No Labels chooses an alternative fascist like Tucker Carlson they would help keep Trump out, but otherwise FOLLOW THE MONEY.

Like everyone else in the political world, they want some attention and power. Garden variety idiots who obtain power never work out well (See Trump, Gaetz, Greene, etc.)

Well, every vote counts - at least until the Electoral College gets involved.

I don't see the No Labels ticket going anywhere. Even if they got a supposed "top tier" candidate, they were likely to flop once election time rolled around - third party candidacies always poll better than their actual numbers come election day. But they couldn't even get a Joe Manchin or a Larry Hogan onboard, so they're going to end up with some third tier candidate like Geoff Duncan, who almost no one knows about and many rich No Labels Donors won't want to waste money on.

The only rationale for this whole thing, aside from delusion (which is the likely rationale) is to try and sabotage Biden by propping up third party candidates who can siphon away votes, sort of like how GOP operatives were behind Kanye's debacle of a 2020 "campaign", which was clearly designed to draw Black/African American votes away from Biden/Harris.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Penn have been a pimple on the ass of American politics since their failures in the Clinton Administration, though it you asked them, they'd tell you they are legends in their own minds.

How about this: No Labels is lying.

Does anyone trust Lieberman? Anyone? Now what do they really want, and why?

Is No Labels of stalking horse for the Likud party?

I cannot remember who I heard talking about this a day or two ago, but they were arguing that in any other election cycle, No Labels would make sense. I am a huge fan of a third party and used Gary Johnson in 2016 to protest Trump and Clinton.

But with the stakes so very high in this cycle, No Labels really needs to stand down so that we do not re-elect Trump. Even though I'm not a fan of Biden and REALLY NOT a fan of Trump, I have to say that I agree with that analysis. We MUST do everything possible to ensure that Trump NEVER sees the Presidency EVER again!

With all of that said, we need to face the fact that the Republican party (GOP) is dead. It is now the MAGA party filled with non-negotiating right wing extremists. There will need to be something new created where moderate middle of the road folks will have a place to congregate and organize. Those of us in that middle space supposedly make up at least 60% of the electorate, so I would think we could get our act together and take the political environment back to something a bit more normal.

Entering the race at this late date, and with zero meaningful support, makes no sense. They will limp along until Novermber, floating in the netherstream, soon to disappear, permanently, into ignominimy.

If Lieberman is being straight, why not use any money they have raised to support Biden and trash Trump? THAT is how they could make a real difference.

You’re right about this as always, Chris. The most constructive thing NL, the Greens and any other unaffiliated “third-way” type group could do is (1) endorse Biden, even if reluctantly; and (2) unite and campaign together for ELECTORAL reform, not a presidential ticket in our crazy system. Yes, it will take a constitutional amendment which is basically impossible, but they ought to make the case together anyway.
