I would love to see Fox News do some easy lob Trump questions. Do you support trying Gen Milley for Treason? Do you think injured veterans are gross people who should be shunned? Do you think the finding that Trump’s business was based on fraud should undermine public confidence in him?
While I would not watching, it would be nice if they talk about policy and not get carried away like some people by a criminal personality in Donald Trump. This guy was just convicted of another fraud in New York and yet some talking and writing heads are still obsessed with him. These obsessed talking and writing heads don't have my respect at all. If the people on that stage are going to talk about Trump, they should talk about his multiple crimes and yesterday's FRAUD conviction.
Oh and by the way I was expecting to see Trump in his Mug shot in this commentare like we say a video of Biden when he tripped and fell in August
Will the moderators ask the candidates why they are still running if they are not able to say anything about Trump? And would they answer honestly if they actually were asked?
Now that would be a moment worth watching but I can't imagine the moderator asking such a question. I won't be watching. I did not learn one new thing when I watched the last debate and if these aspiring candidates continue to not challenge Trump they have no chance of winning the primary. I guess they are auditioning for VP.
The paralysis that Trump has exerted over the Republican field is truly something to behold. I doubt if it will budge much tonight even though it must be obvious to all taking part in the debate that it's Trump they have to bring down if they want to get ahead. With the recent ruling that Trump inflated his N.Y. property values, there's even more ammunition, but will any of them use it at all? Maybe Christie a bit. The news that Fox seems to be slashing TV advertising prices for tonight's debate really tells you all you need to know about its relevance.
Now that trump basically said he wouldn’t take any of them as VP, what could they possibly be angling for by protecting them? “I really want to be Secretary of HUD”
You can stop calling Trump a billionaire. He is not. Never was. You are, in fact, perpetuating a lie. Bad policy for one who fancies himself a journalist.
They're all a bunch of cowards with the exception of Chris Christie, who has about as much chance as me of getting the Republican nomination. They're all terrified of their Orange leader.
It is interesting to me that, among my non-political junkie friends, there is ZERO interest in the GOP debates or the GOP candidates. Granted, Dane County, Wisconsin vote 76% for President Biden and the City of Madison total was 80+%. In the past people would watch the debates, if only to dislike candidates up close. That is not the case this year. I'm not sure what that says, but it probably says something.
My expectation is there will be very little new or earth shattering coming out of tonight's debate - I would like to be wrong, however, none of these candidates have shown any real desire to actually fight for the nomination.
I actually thought this is pretty much how it would all play out. Although, a bit surprised that DeSantis failed to launch and sank so fast. I figured it may be neck and neck but once the primary voting started, Trump would dominate. If I recall, DeSantis can not be Veep as they are both from the same state, not that DeSantis wants it anyway. I wanted Asa or Christie to make same headway but Asa hasn’t qualified for this debate, he’s done. Christie I know is not popular at all and wouldn’t get far but coming from NJ (until 2 years ago), he was our governor and not the worst at all. I thought he’d come out swinging HARD. I also expected Haley to be up a lot more than she is. At the end of the day, I don’t think tonight’s debate will substantially move the needle. However, agree with Chris that these candidates should at least try, come out against Trump hard. They need to make the case that they are not Trump and put forth some policy ideas. My late father was telling me, many times in the last number of years, this country is not what it was, it has gone downhill. Yes dad, it has.
I don't subscribe to the notion that either DeSantis or Haley is running for VP. They have both said and done things sufficiently adverse to Trump to have any expectation of getting the VP nod from the always vindictive Trump. Tim Scott may be running for VP. He certainly isn't making much of a run for POTUS
I would really love to see Trump debate Liz Cheney; but I guess there’s no chance of that.

You can watch for me, thanks. I don’t want to upchuck my dinner. 😜
Watch South Park reruns. More informative!
I won’t be watching this evening. If these folks can’t go after Trump how do they expect the American people to view them as a better choice?

Any plans to do a live chat tonight? That might be the only way I'd watch these bozos again.
I am planning to! More info to come shortly!

I wonder what responses would be if there was no live audience. Would they still pander, or would they actually give honest answers?
