This is great-- and I’m asking you two influencers - as I’m asking everyone I can: why are more people not supporting Marianne Williamson for DNC chair? She seems to be the one person with enough brains, heart and nerve to do just what is needed.
I got the notice, but I didn't know who Alisyn was, so for future reference, it would be great to give a brief bio so I will know if this is a discussion I want to participate in real time with. Just a thought.
I watched it on YouTube - the interview is currently titled "unknown" which I doubt will help the YT algorithms.
I didn't know much about Alisyn Camerota and feel like I still don't. I guess she's in a different place with Substack and hasn't developed a perspective yet.
The first thing that popped into her head as something she's now allowed to say is that Trump is a dictator? That quote of his has been widely reported.
I wonder what she thinks of Cenk Uighur, and I notice about white moderates (the Very Serious People of segregation - the Beltway Republicans - who became the New Democrats), that they give lip service to civil and political rights, but do not offer specifics. It is true they support tokenism - allowing not minorities and those on the feminine spectrum to join the elite, but to allow MEMBERS of minorities and non-cisgender men to join the elite - hence the existence of Hillary Clinton, Bill Gates (a Cambro-Norman), Ellen DeGeneres, Chuck Schumer (an ethnic Germanophone), and Barack Obama, to join the elite, but they do not offer specific policies other than realpolitik: for instance, Obama promising to legalize same-sex marriage despite opposing it in 2008.
This is also reflected in the appropriation of the civil rights movement with MLK Day to replace Robert E. Lee Day (beforehand MLK Day African-Americans were ALWAYS mocked in media: they were also tokens like in "The Cosby Show" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"), despite MLK being seen as "a troublemaker" who was hated by the black community. The appropriation can be seen in the fact that Loretta Scott King, who supported black feminism and non-heteronormative rights, and MLK III, are not household names: if you have a token, you don't need to help the black community, including black women, and you can avoid other aspects of the civil rights movement like non-heteronormative rights.
Mary Trump criticizes her uncle but does not offer alternative policies, and whilst Wolf Blitzer (token Germanophone), Anderson Cooper (token Dutchman, a kind of Germanophone), Fareed Zakaria (token Pakistani), David Axelrod, Alisyn Camerota (a token Generation Y), Don Lemon, and Michael Smerconish (token German Quaker those ancestors moved to Ireland), give informative historical and economic context of politics
and issues, they do not offer solutions.
I thought they were progressivist since they talked about the context, but I realize this just shows they are explaining the context: they do not believe in progressivist policies to fix them, but in realpolitik.
Can I plug my own work? I interviewed Alisyn last year about her new book and she was great.

Never would picture a CNN anchor had such a fun backstory.
Awesome interview, Refreshing!! Thank You.

Missed this live and was looking forward to it!
