Of course he will and Republicans will still not be able to bring themselves to say he lost in 2020 so he would still get the nomination in 2028. And if he wins in 2024 he won’t willingly leave office after 4 years.
I heard someone recently saying that Jack Smith is looking at Trump for wire fraud in connection with lying about being cheated. Essentially what Elizabeth Holmes is doing 11 years for. That and the documents look like pretty solid cases. Put Georgia and January 6th on top of that and it seems like he has a really good chance of being sentenced to some time behind bars.
What happens if he’s incarcerated in November 2024?
There is the"Trump is inevitable" narrative that Chris endorses. So do many others, to be fair. I just can't understand how so many otherwise intelligent people fail to recognize that, indeed, Trump may be (likely will be?) facing multiple very serious felony charges within the next 6-9 months. How "inevitable" will Trump look at that point?
DeSantis may pick Tm Scott as his running mate or vice versa. Trump could be out of the political picture for good in 2024. At least that's what polls show that the majority of the
I do think that Scott is running to either be VP or name recognition for 2028. If Trump is the nominee and loses in 2024, if he isn’t in jail and is still relatively healthy, he will go for 2028. However, i tend to think that by 2028, his odds of winning would be a lot lower. Between total Trump fatigue, age, new and upcoming names will motivate the younger people. Scott will have a better shot at things in 2028, as will others.
At a meet and greet with Asa Hutchinson yesterday. 12 people were there. In Iowa’s second largest City. Why do these guys run? Ego? If that is the reason, they better hold on to it because with the MAGA group it will be crushed.
Scott is depending on the theory that Trump & DeSantos are running on past ideas. What will separate him from them is running on future ideas that will coalesce once today's GOP has crashed & burned. That battle will involve the same programs that the Democrats are pushing today - one's that appeal to the majority of the population, such women's reproductive rights, voting rights, job creation & anything like returning to a Gov't for the people, by the people. This is a tranformational period whereby America will return to its values from a time between 1930 - 1970 rather than the last 50 years where Gov'ts sold their souls to BigCorps & the morbidly rich.
If the American public cannot be convinced to embrace that concept, the future will be one of fascism & authoritarians the likes of which America has never dealt with.
That said, which vision does Tim Scott see as the future for America???
I don't understand your statement that Trump can't run in 28. If he doesn't win in 24, what would stop him from running in 28, assuming he's alive?
Fair enough. I don't think that's likely but what do I know.
The Trump kids will pretend he is still alive even after he is dead!

I think there are people crazy enough to vote for him, even if he's in prison.
The J6ers won’t be able to anyway. They’re felons.
That’s a question for whoever the Republican nominee is, is whether those domestic terrorists get pardons.

Strong possibility and he will plead with Boden or DeSantis to pardon him
It’s possible
Your header says it all!

Scott needs a better dodge for his abortion stance.

He has proven to be just as much a light-weight on his feet in answering press questions as is the Wannabe-Mussolini.
Both should keep their day jobs because they have hit the ceiling of their profession.

And how many of the dozen were there only for the coffee and donuts?
