You are correct Chris, up to a point. There is something more: underneath the need to feel like the “big shot” is an unconscious compulsion to be the bad boy who can still be loved, still be accepted. He cannot control his misbehavior, it will never stop, only escalate, and he has now found millions of people who identify with him and, through their support, will enable him to continue to act out their own unresolved conscious and unconscious fantasies.
Yes, exactly. He's a big baby who never admits fault or failure, and no one can tell him "no". Those things were his toys, ("I don't want anyone looking through my boxes"), and no one can take them.
Unlike most CNN videos, your videos have more content then just the headline. With CNN, it is a three minute video, after an ad, that tells you nothing more than the facts described in the video headline. I hate video as I can read the entire contents of a five minute video in 15 seconds. Yours are much better. :-) The enthusiasm is contagious.
I can’t get into Trump’s head, but I believe he took papers that have value to our foes and has or will have used them for profit, blackmail, to curry favor, and all the things that traitors do. If it was just about ego he could have taken artifacts. He is not a genius, but he does know what has traceable value. In other words, he is not as stupid as he seems. If we underestimate him it is to our own disadvantage.
Your conclusion that it’s his “ego... nothing more, nothing less”. I think there is more. Maybe because of his ego, he has been manipulated by our foreign adversaries all along. What an easy target he is for them!
Off topic but.. Maggie Haberman is smart and Trump is not so smart, her time would be better spent covering people like Ted Cruz and DeSantis. Cruz and DeSantis are well educated and treating their constituents like they are fools. Trump does the same thing, but he has no education, so ignorance is a possible excuse. Ted and Ron have no such excuses.
