Haley is NOT anti-Trump. She'll be just fine saying "yes!" when he asks her to be VP - and don't worry, if he thinks it's a good idea FOR HIM all the "birdbrain" crap and the rest will go in the trash, and neither of them will say a word about it. She will be just fine campaigning for him (and she'd do it if he didn't name her VP). She's no "moderate," no "sane" Republican (for once and for all, get it through your DC Press Corpse head, there are none of those still in the party - they left long ago).
Christie will slam Trump up to the convention, and then campaign against him this fall.
"Can't we all just get along?" is OVER, everywhere but in the heads of the self-brainwashed otherwise-unemployables at the Cretin News Network, the mainstream legacy TV networks, the Washington Post and the nation's finest fishwrap, aka the NYT.
I would not vote for any Republican but Christie is the pick of the lot. Haley isn't quite "Trump in high heels" but a.) she said she'd vote for him, b.) would accept the chance to be his running mate, and -- worst of all -- c.) if elected, would pardon him. How does that make her the "anti-Trump?"
Chris - I know your arguments make logical sense, and in a normal political climate or world, I would agree and not give your recommendations another thought.
However, emotionally (or irrationally), I am not willing to give into Trump - I would like to see the one candidate who has been vocal about his opposition to Trump remain as long as possible. Once Christie is gone, there will not be any reason to pay attention to any of the Republican primary any further.
As I said, my head agrees with you - it just removes any sense of hope for anybody but Trump being the nominee...
Trump will be the nominee. Christie is at least telling the truth about Donald Trump and admits that backing him in the past was a mistake on his part. Christie can at least speak to some amount of Republican voters. No one is going to beat Trump in these primaries.
Christie has always only cared about what was best for Chris Christie and what keeps him relevant. This has always been a vanity campaign, dressed up like a moral crusade.
But to his point, which you mentioned Chris- once Nikki Haley said she would pardon Trump, she lost any anti-Trump credibility and I wouldn't drop out to help her, especially since she seems more focused on DeSantis, who hasn't been relevant in months.
Would it make sense for Christie to get out, but not endorse anyone? The logic is that Christie is staying in the race because he is the only candidate speaking the truth about Trump. If he gets out and endorses Haley and continues to bash Trump, he could be a liability to Haley who is trying to attract “Trump-weary but don’t hate him” voters. If Christie gets out without endorsing anyone, he can still be a truth-teller and anyone but Trump-er. I am sure the cable news bloviators would have him on speed dial,
even if he is not a candidate, so he would still have a platform to speak his truth.
Chris Christie is a cipher in the tiny group of pretend candidates mounted by the RNC in an attempt to make their primary look genuine. The behemoth that is Trump support in what remains of the Republican Party will not be stopped. And anyone who thinks that those people are going to vote for a brown woman, no matter how Trumpian she is, is delusional.
IMO, the race never began and it’s going to be Trump as the nominee. Period. This is all truly disgusting that we are in this position but here we are.
I don't know if Christie listens to you, Chris, but the timing of his decision looks like he might. Or maybe it's just a matter of his assenting to the obvious.
Wrong!!!
Nobody. Is. Going. to,. Beat. Trump.

Preach brother!

And, she will certainly endorse him when he clobbers her in SC...

Nuts - Chris had his crystal ball working today, OR, more likely, really knows a thing or two about politics.
Also clear Christie will not be endorsing anyone either.
I think it's so cute that you think that if Dumpy becomes president this fall there will be an election in 2028 for Nikki Haley to run in.
Trump will be the nominee. Christie is at least telling the truth about Donald Trump and admits that backing him in the past was a mistake on his part. Christie can at least speak to some amount of Republican voters. No one is going to beat Trump in these primaries.

Christie just quit. Do you know the winning Mega numbers?? ;)
Unfortunately, AP is now reporting that Christie will announce the end of his campaign tonight at his townhall in NH.
Is Chris Christie one of your subscribers??

"Anybody thinks I'm getting out of this race, they're crazy,”
Apparently you were prescient. Christie is bailing

Chris, did you also write Nick Saban and Pete Carroll need to get out NOW?
I don't know if Christie listens to you, Chris, but the timing of his decision looks like he might. Or maybe it's just a matter of his assenting to the obvious.
Did you just call him? Cause it worked. Lou
